After reading my warden's incredibly interesting file, I've decided to research Nazis. While typically I find ambition admirable, they appear to be nothing more than bullies who, finding a way to take things to the point of killing without getting in trouble for it, picked a group and decided to go as far as they could with it. The entire ideology is sheer idiocy, and the fact that anyone intelligent enough to see through it and not follow them blindly was in danger for their lives shows...well, it shows that they'd have likely wanted me dead, as I never follow anyone blindly. If I was in that world, in that era, I'd likely have slaughtered any Nazi I came across. I'd have rather enjoyed it, too.

I'll never understand why we were on their side in the war, even knowing the history behind it. I suspect it's because we had the same collective aims, but why did either state need to grow to encompass the whole world?

What do you mean? And I can see the lust for power, just not the need to victimize people based on race or religion, to experiment on those who cannot fight back. To try and reach a ridiculous concept of perfection that would hardly be perfect at all even if they reached it.

I mean I'm from a nation that allied with the Nazis, though we gave them little aid. This was before my time. My grandfather was still a young child.

I don't even see that need for power. What would you do with the world, if you owned it?

Accidentally break it. If I could avoid that, I would make people worship me as a god. This is actually an extreme reaction to the bullying I received as a child, and I hope that by taking over the world, I can make everyone who saw me as weak and pitiful change their minds.

If you didn't want it changed for such petty reasons I'd find that almost laudable in its ambition, if self-centered.

In one time line I did, but the one I experienced, only nearly. I discovered that if I proceeded as planned, I'd unintentionally destroy the world I wished to be a god of.

Actually, I'm thinking that maybe godhood is a bit too much. I think, perhaps, if I simply seek to rule the world as a human I'd be better able to control the power, being within the realm of human comprehension.

Then why do you want to take the power they have? I doubt there's a vacuum in your universe for a new one to just appear. You'd have to kill one, and having fought one only into submission, it's... well, difficult.
